Dr. Don Bishop
Don and Dale were married at First Baptist, West Columbia; Don was also licensed and ordained by the church. Don served three churches during his forty years of being a Pastor. Since retirement, Don has served as Interim Pastor at West Columbia First, Lexington Baptist, and now again at West Columbia First. He has been trained in Intentional and Transitional Ministry by the SC Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. Therefore, he is leading West Columbia First in our Transition Process as we prepare for our future leadership and ministry. Dr. Bishop is a native of South
Carolina and the West Columbia area. He was born in Hampton,
SC and finished Brookland-Cayce High School. Don graduated
from North Greenville College, Furman University, and New Orleans
Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Dale Thompson
who also grew up in First Baptist Church of West Columbia.
